World Blood Pressure Day

World Blood Pressure Day

Every year on may 17, is dedicated to World Blood Pressure Day (WHD). WHD aims to raise public awareness about hypertension and encourage citizens from all countries to control this silent killer.

High blood pressure is one of the main reasons for a wide range of health problems, such as stroke, heart attacks, kidney disease, and mental decline. Most people who are suffering from high blood pressure are not even aware of their condition because they have no symptoms. They will often notice this complication after a heart attack or stroke.

For this reason, and to raise awareness about this illness, Maryam Hospital set up a free center for measuring blood pressure in one of the  Refah chain stores to contribute to the overall health of the community.
